The State Chancellery has appointed Mircea Eșanu as director of the Public Services Agency, IPN reports. In 2019, Eșanu briefly held the post of the Agency’s acting director.
Mircea Eșanu has over ten years of managerial experience in implementing projects financed by the European Union, the World Bank, KfW Germany and the Government of Romania in areas that include good governance, strengthening the capacity of central and local public administration, local development and rehabilitation of public infrastructure. He has experience in working with civil society, in developing and monitoring public policies, promoting transparency in public administration and educational institutions.
He was project manager at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Moldova in 2009-2012, and in 2014-2019 - director of the Social Investment Fund in Moldova (FISM).
In September 2019, he was appointed by the Maia Sandu Government as interim director of ASP. He left the job in November 2019 and continued his career as a program manager at the German Foundation Konrad Adenauer’s representative office in Moldova.
Subsequently, in May-August 2021, he was chief of staff to the interim Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi.
