Parliament appointed Judge Sergiu Furdui as Deputy Chairman of the Criminal Department of the Supreme Court of Justice. Furdui was appointed to the office for a 4-year term. Parliament also appointed a new judge of the Supreme Court of Justice. Of the three candidates proposed for the office, the Superior Council of Magistracy designated Judge Ion Arhiliuc, who is currently serving as judge at the Buiucani District Court. The nominee was subsequently approved by Parliament
