Suspended prosecutor general Alexandr Stoianoglo is investigated in a new criminal case in which he is charged on two counts – privacy breach and disclosure of criminal prosecution data. The information was confirmed for IPN by Mariana Cherpec, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Alexandr Stoianoglo has been under judicial control. The investigation into the count of abuse of power was completed. Alexandr Stoianoglo was also accused of illegally ordering to transfer 163,900 lei in severance pay to Nicolae Chitoroagă even if this was under investigation and wasn’t entitled to such a payment.

Also, Alexandr Stoianoglo was charged with abuse of office, passive corruption, perjury and favoring of an organized criminal group. He denies any wrongdoing on all the counts.
