The continuity of the reform and development efforts of the Republic of Moldova will be ensured thanks to a new CoE Action Plan for 2025-2028, which is to be adopted by the end of this year, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset said at a meeting in New York with Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, IPN reports.
During the meeting, the interlocutors conferred on the progress made by the Republic of Moldova, with the support of the Council of Europe Action Plan, in the fields of protection of children’s and refugees’ rights, combating of domestic violence, propaganda and disinformation, corruption and money laundering, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Mihai Popșoi and Alain Berset also referred to the steps taken by Moldova to take over the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, from November 2025 until May 2026.
In New York, the Moldovan official took part in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly and in other related events.
