The sociopolitical movement “New Force” has a new representative in the Chisinau Municipal Council. Olga Rujanschi, a substitute candidate, will replace Sergiu Tofilat, who was named presidential adviser. The decision to assign the post was taken by the Central Election Commission (CEC) on January 19, IPN reports.

CEC secretary Maxim Lebedinschi said Sergiu Tofilat tendered a resignation himself, vacating the post.

The Chisinau Municipal Council has 51 councilors. It now consists of four groups, of the Party of Socialists, the Party of Action and Solidary, the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” and the Liberal Party. There are also two Democratic councilors, two councilors of the Shor Party and by a councilor of the National Unity Party, the “New Force” Movement and the Party of Communists.
