New cooperation possibilities for Moldovan police
The Moldovan police will form part of the International Police Association (IPA), Info-Prim Neo reports.
Representatives of the IPA Permanent Executive Bureau accepted the National Police Department of Moldova as a component of the International Police Association, inviting it to cooperation, a communiqué from the Moldovan Parliament informs.
According to Speaker Marian Lupu, who is quoted in the communiqué, the participation of the Moldovan policemen in the activities carried out by IPA will constitute an opportunity for exchanging experience and learning from the best international practices.
IPA President Michael Odysseos said that the police in Moldova could take part in conferences and workshops on subjects of common interest, organized by the Training Center in Germany.
IPA is disposed to actively cooperate with the Moldovan police and assist them in reaching the generally recognized international standards, IPA President said.
Founded on January 1, 1950, IPA is the largest nongovernmental and apolitical police association in the world. It is based in London and brings together over 60 national departments.
