New contract for gas supply with Russia to be negotiated by a joint group
The new contract for the supply of natural gas from Russia to Moldova will be negotiated by a joint group consisting of representatives of SAD Gazprom, the Ministry of Economy of Moldova and SA Moldovagaz, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from Moldovagaz, the working group will have the task of negotiating the formula for calculating the purchase price of gas. The parties agreed to sign the contract for a period of five years and to convene monthly meetings of the working group.
The contract will be discussed in the next round of negotiations that will take place in Chisinau in October, during the visit of Alexandr Medvedev, vice president of the Administration Board of SAD Gazprom. The contract for the supply of gas from 2012 is planned to be signed by the end of this year.
As to the conditions of the new contract for the transportation of gas via Moldova, the parties agreed to synchronize the term of this contract with the new term of the contract for the supply of gas.
The present contract for gas supply was signed in December 2006.
