The Supervisory Board (SB) of Teleradio-Moldova Company announced a new contest for the post of director of “Radio Moldova” national station on Thursday, April 26. The contest will start once the announcement will be published in “The Official Monitor”, while the deadline for applications is June 1, 2007. The SB members will meet on June 8, when they will interview the applicants. Under the provisions of the Broadcasting Code, the director of the national radio station must meet a series of requirements: to be professional in the field and to prove managerial abilities; higher education; to be citizen of Moldova; to speak the official language etc. The respective function is incompatible with the function of member of the Government, MP, member of CCA; member of a party; member of a leading body or employee, partner, shareholder, owner of a private radiobroadcaster. SB shall confirm the director for the national radio station with the vote of at least 2/3 of the members. This position is confirmed for a 5-year period. Earlier, SB announced another contest, in which five persons participated. None of them was selected, as 7 members voted against all the candidates, while 2 voting ballots were declared invalid. The president of the Company and the director of Moldova 1 national channel were appointed within the same contest.
