New conscription center inaugurated in Chisinau

The Chisinau City Hall has built a new Municipal Military Center, which was opened on Thursday, on the occasion of the Recruit Day. According to a City Hall press release, the new building has cost 5 million lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca visited the place and checked the conditions of work for the center employees. The mayor passed the general medical examination, like any new recruit. Chirtoaca said that by rebuilding the Municipal Military Center, administered by the Ministry of Defense, the City Hall improved the conditions of examination for recruits from the municipality. “Although the City Hall budget has been decreasing in the last years, we managed to find the necessary money to implement this project and to create adequate conditions for the 21st century. I congratulate the center workers on this occasion and I am glad that our citizens will benefit of better conditions”, said the mayor. For his part, Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta thanked the City Hall for the capital renovation of the building and bid the recruits faith, will and resistance during their military service. “I encourage you to wear this uniform with honesty and honor, to respect discipline and to never forget the oath of faith to your fatherland and the people of Moldova”, said the Minister of Defense. This spring, the Municipal Military Center will enroll 200 young men from Chisinau in the Army Forces. According to national legislation, the enrollment of youth in the military services is done four times a year and the duration of the service is 12 months.
