The National Health Insurance Company said that as of January 27, the Moldovans can change the family doctor and primary medical-sanitary facility throughout the year, during six month of the last change/registration. The provision was included in the new regulations concerning the registration of persons with the family doctor, IPN reports.
Under the regulations, the persons who will register for the first time or will change the family doctor within the same medical institution will submit an application to the chosen doctor and will benefit from their services starting with the day the application is accepted by the doctor.
Also, the people who will choose the services of a family doctor from another medical-sanitary facility will benefit from the services of the chosen doctor when changes are made to the information system of the National Health Insurance Company. For the purpose, they will personally submit the application to the customer relations services of the Company. These are housed by the Company’s seven local agencies, within the former family doctor’s centers (currently health centers) or district hospitals. This way, the cases of registration of persons on the lists of family doctor’s centers in the absence of a relevant application will be excluded.
The location of the customer relations services can be found out on the Company’s website.
Another novelty introduced by the regulations is the fact that the people during the next five years will confirm their wish to be put on the list of the family doctor by filling out the new model application. This will be submitted to the family doctor’s center and will be attached to the initial application filed before the coming into force of the regulations.
