Pupils at the Mihai Grecu Lyceum in Chisinau will be able to study computer science and graphic design on new computers. On the occasion of the winter holidays, Accent Electronic donated 11 new computers to the educational institution, accompanied by licensed operating systems. The institution was selected with the help of the Ministry of Education.
Accent Group president Vladimir Russu said that he and his team have always put an emphasis on education and access to new technologies. “Our priority as a country is to stop the exodus of the population and ensure adequate economic growth. Access to technology is an opportunity to learn various well-paid computer skills: graphic designer, photo editor, typist, copywriter. When I say well-paid, I mean salaries that start at 800-1000 euros and up, for jobs that one can be trained for in three months”.
The entrepreneur said he would like to believe that government decision-makers also understand how important it is to digitize the education system and hopes that things will move in this direction.
Viorica Negrei, deputy head of the Chisinau Education Directorate, said that Accent Electronic’s interest in education is worthy of all respect. “This is the second donation of computers for children in Chisinau, which speaks of the company’s attachment to education and care for the future of our generations. I am sure that the donated equipment will help students to develop skills that will lead them to the trades of the future”, said Viorica Negrei.
Two weeks ago, Accent Electronic donated another batch of computers to the Placement Center Lumina in Chisinau.
Accent Electronic is the company that, in 1998, convinced the American giant HP to deliver the first batch of computers for schools in Moldova. Each educational institution then received equipment for computer classes, equipment that ushered in the first generations of IT specialists.
