The Superior Council of Prosecutors on October 15 designated caretaker chiefs at the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) and the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office. The information was confirmed for IPN by the Council’s spokesman Eugen Roșca.

Sergiu Russu was named acting head of PCCOCS, while Vladislav Bobrov – as deputy head.

Elena Cazacov was appointed caretaker head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, while Ion Munteanu as acting deputy head of the institution.

Several days ago, Ion Caracuian quit as PCCOCS chief, invoking personal reasons. Last week, Adrian Bordianu was dismissed from the post of acting chief of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office by order of the caretaker prosecutor general.
