The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council has a new chief. This is Rodica Gutu, who held the post on an interim basis until now, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Division says that by an order signed by the acting mayor general on May 31, Rodica Gutu was named winner of the staged contest. She will serve a four-year term.

On May 31, sympathizers of the PAS, PPPDA and PLDM protested in front of the Chisinau City Hall against the way in which the public contest to fill the post of head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport was held. According to the protesters, the contest took place with violations of the regulations. At least three days before the contest, the announcement about the contest should have been placed on the City Hall’s website. After the PAS leader Maia Sandu on May 30 warned publicly about this, the City Hall published the announcement, but antedated this May 28. The protesters requested the municipal authorities to suspend the contest because of the committed illegality.
