The municipal police came into possession of twenty new cars worth 2 million lei. The money was allocated by the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Chevrolet Aveo cars were transmitted to the Chisinau General Police Commissariat. They will be distributed to the Traffic Police Service and the Patrol and Sentinel Regiment “Scut”. Acting mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu handed over the keys to the new cars. He congratulated the police officers on this occasion, saying the new vehicles will facilitate their efforts to combat crime and maintain public order. This is the second acquisition of cars for the municipal police during the last half year. Last December, the Chisinau City Hall bought ten new vehicles. Until then, no new purchases of cars for the General Police Commissariat were made since 1997.
