A new vehicle bridge that connects the villages Jevreni and Raculesti of Criuleni district was put into operation. Attending the inaugural ceremony, Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Vasile Botnari said the investments made in the construction of the bridge from the Road Fund amounted to 18 million lei, IPN reports.
Earlier, the two villages were connected through an old wooden bridge that was often flooded. “We have a lot of work to do. The rehabilitation of all the roads and bridges in the country will take not one year and not two years. It is important that things moved on and we are determined to take rapid steps,” stated Vasile Botnari.
In Moldova there are over 1,200 bridges. About 40 bridges are repaired and 4-5 new bridges are built annually. The 72 meter-long bridge in Jevreni was constructed during 16 months. The project included the rehabilitation of 700 meters of an access road.
