The Chisinau City Appeals Court stopped work after an individual called the 112 service at about 9am and said that an explosive device was planted inside the building.

Chisinau Police Division press officer Natalia Stati has told IPN that the building is beings searched. The area was surrounded and all the employees and visitors of the Court were evacuated.

The Chisinau City Appeals Court was the target of a bomb scare also at the start of last week. This turned out to be a hoax. The caller hasn’t been identified yet.

Under the Penal Code, the authors of a bomb hoax face a fine of 27,500 to 42,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or at most two years in jail.
