New areas of cooperation on Moldovan-Czech agenda

The prospects of developing the Moldovan-Czech cooperation relations were discussed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Moldova Zdeněk Krejčí in a meeting on April 25. The two officials spoke about the planning of the third meeting of the Moldovan-Czech interministerial commission for economic cooperation that will take place in Chisinau this September and will include a Bilateral Business Forum. The officials agreed new areas of cooperation such as defense, investment and territorial development.

Another subject to which the officials referred is the Government’s reform agenda. Special emphasis was placed on the public administration and justice sector reforms. In this connection, Pavel Filip underlined the importance of optimizing all the processes and ensuring their transparency.

The Czech diplomat noted the Czech Republic’s readiness to support Moldova’s development in the long run by maintaining Moldova in the list of states of interest for the Czech economy. Zdeněk Krejčí called on the Moldovan entrepreneurs to be more active on the Czech market.

During 25 years of diplomatic relations between Moldova and the Czech Republic, the Czech Development Agency supported Moldova in such key areas as democracy and human rights, social infrastructure and services, agriculture, forestry, water supply and sewerage and environmental protection.
