New and old deputy ministers

[Natalia German] was confirmed by the Government to the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration on November 4. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca said that Natalia Gherman's appointment to the post several months ago was one of the few successful personnel policy moves of the previous government, Info-Prim Neo reports. Natalia German came to the Foreign Ministry in 1992 . During the last few years, she had been Ambassador to Austria and Sweden. In all the posts held, she showed competence and professional devotion, Leanca said. By another Government decision, [Octavian Calmac] was named Deputy Minister of Economy. He has worked for many years at the Economy Ministry, being in charge of foreign economic relations. During many years, he had taken part in the talks with the World Trade Organization. Doctor of Technical Sciences [Anatol Zolotcov] was named as Deputy Minister of Construction and Regional Development, [Boris Gherasim] – as Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Development, while [Sergiu Sainciuc] – as Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family. Earlier, Sainciuc was Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade. At the same meeting, [Elena Beleacov] was named as director general of the Interetnic Relations Bureau. She replaced Olga Gonciarov, who tendered her resignation. [Gheorghe Vdovai] became the new director of Moldsilva Agency, while [Viorel Chetraru] will head the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime instead of Sergiu Burduja. The Government dismissed Valeriu Ostalep from the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Vasile Ursu was dismissed from the post of Deputy Minister of Construction and Territorial Development, Iurie Bucinschi – from the post of Deputy Minister of Social Protection, Family and Child, while Ion Turcanu – from the post of director general of the Agency for Material Reserves, Public Procurement and Humanitarian Aid. There were recalled the Ambassador to Poland Valenin Mejinschi and the Ambassador to Turkey Sergiu Stati. A number of ambassadors will return to Moldova as their terms in office expired These are: the Ambassador to Belgium, and, simultaneously, to Luxemburg and the Netherlands, Victor Gaiciuc, the Ambassador to Austria and, simultaneously, to Slovakia, Victor Postolachi, the Ambassador to Israel and, simultaneously, to Cyprus Larisa Miculet, the Ambassador to Portugal and, simultaneously, to Morocco Mihai Camerzan. The Government also discharged Igor Malai as Deputy Minister of Defense and Ion Corobcean as head of the General Staff and Commander of the National Army. Colonel [Iurie Duminic], director of the National Army's General Staff, will hold the two posts instead of Corobcean on an interim basis.
