On March 18, U.S. Ambassador William H. Moser and Shevchenko State University Rector Stepan Beril will officially dedicate the new “Center for English Language and American Culture,” an Embassy-funded facility at the university in Tiraspol, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press released from the U.S. Embassy, the center – which contains English language books and DVDs, as well as computers and audio-visual equipment – is one of five the Embassy manages. Others are located in Chisinau, Balti, Ungheni and Ceadir-Lunga. They are designed to help increase understanding of American culture and values, and to teach the English language. Also invited to the opening ceremony are the ambassadors from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria and France, the OSCE ambassador, the EU high representative, and officials from the Transnistria region. The event starts at 12:00. The new American Center is located at 25th October street, 107, 2nd floor.
