New ambassadors to Ukraine and Spain nominated

The Government accepted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration’s proposal to name Valeriu Chiveri as Ambassador to Ukraine and Eugeniu Revenco as Ambassador to Spain, IPN reports.

Valeriu Chiveri earlier headed Moldova’s diplomatic mission to Austria (2010-2013) and served as deputy minister of foreign affairs (2013-2015). Since 2019 until present, he has headed the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

Eugeniu Revenco holds office of secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European as from 2019. In 2015-2019, he served as Ambassador to Latvia. He studied at the Institute for European Studies of the Brussels Free University.

The Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representatives, Envoys and Chargé d’Affaires (Permanent) are appointed and recalled by the President of the Republic of Moldova, at the proposal of the Government. Proposals for appointment to these positions or concerning dismissal from them are submitted to the Government by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, in consultation with Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration.
