The Ministry of Health and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation have signed an agreement to implement the second phase of the project "Advancing Universal Health Coverage in Moldova." The project supports ongoing efforts to strengthen the health system in the Republic of Moldova, stated Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco, IPN reports.
The second phase of the project, which will run from May 1, 2024, to June 30, 2027, will be implemented with the support of the World Bank and the Swiss Red Cross, funded by a non-reimbursable financial grant from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Moldova. The total investment for this phase is slightly over 3 million Swiss francs.
"The project will help us expand the population's access to quality healthcare services", noted Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco.
The first phase of the project began in 2019. The implementation of the project will continue to be managed by the World Bank and the Swiss Red Cross, with financial assistance from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Moldova.
