The new administration of the radio station “Antena C” has liquidated the departments and the programmes. The employees at the stations say that they were informed about this fact by the interim director on Monday, February 5. The employees at “Antena C” told reporters that on Monday Satnic announced at a meeting that the 2 deputy directors -Ecaterina Stratan and Ion Enache, as well as the chief-accountant of the station were dismissed. According to the employees, Satnic announced that the departments will be liquidated and that “Antena C” will broadcast only news and music without a DJ. According to the journalist Lidia Marin who works at the station, Satnic said that the number of workplaces increased to 53 persons, of which 40 will be advertisement agents. According to the source, Satnic signed several orders, including on the liquidation of the departments and dismissal of the deputy-directors and chief-accountant and appointment of new persons to these positions. This situation occurred when one of the deputy-directors Ecaterina Stratn was on a medical leave. According to Lidia Marin, the increase of workplaces to 53, including 40 positions of advertisement agents, transforms the station into an advertisement agency. Another deputy-director, Ion Enache, said that “by these actions, “Antena C” radio station, which served the interests of its audience, was finally destroyed”. At present, the station is off the air. The disruption is explained by some works operated at “Radiocomunicatii”, the employees say. Policemen and several civilians prohibited the access of the media representatives at the meeting of “Antena C”. The municipal councillors Oleg Cernei and Ion Mamaliga attempted to join the meeting, but they also did not manage. The guard said that was an order Satnic gave. After the meeting, Veaceslav Satnic refused to offer any information and ordered the policemen to prohibit access to his office. The radio stations “Antena C” was sold by the Municipal Council to Dumitru Liuticov for MDL 1.05 mln. The staff of the station sued the decisions of the Chisinau Municipal Council.
