Livia Mitrofan was appointed acting president of the Chisinau Court. A decision to this effect was adopted by the Superior Council of Magistracy on Tuesday, IPN reports.

The Council confirmed Livia Mitrofan after accepting the resignation tendered by judge Nicolae Shova, who held the post of Chisinau Court president on an interim basis since November 2021. He invoked personal reasons.

Livia Mitrofan will serve as acting president of the Chisinau Court until the post is filled in accordance with the law.

Livia Mitrofan was among the judges who competed for the post of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy. She passed the testing conducted by the Pre-Vetting Commission and was elected a substitute member at the General Assembly of Judges of April 28, 2023.
