New acting chief prosecutor named in ATU Gagauzia

The Prosecutor’s Office of ATU Gagauzia has a new acting chief prosecutor. This is Nicolae Levandovschi, the chief prosecutor of the Basarabeasca Prosecutor’s Office. He was appointed to the new post by the Superior Council of Prosecutors on December 2, IPN reports.

SCP member Andrei Roșca said that Nicolae Levandovschi started his career in the prosecution service in 2008, in Taraclia. In March 2012, he was named prosecutor of the Comrat Prosecutor’s Office. Since December 2015, he has served as prosecutor of Basarabeasca district. Levandovschi wasn’t subject to disciplinary penalties.

The post of acting chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of ATU Gagauzia will be held concomitantly with that of prosecutor of the Basarabeasca Prosecutor’s Office.

Until recently, the post of acting chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of ATU Gagauzia was occupied by prosecutor Victor Cîlcic. He was named to this post in June 2020, by order of prosecutor general Alexandr Stoianoglo, who is currently suspended. Acting prosecutor general Dumitru Robu proposed that Vasile Stoinov should hold the post of acting chief prosecutor of ATU Gagauzia, but the Superior Council of Prosecutors rejected the proposal.
