The neurological diseases will be treated at then clinical Neurosurgery Department of the Emergency Medicine Institute with new equipment that was purchased with funds allocated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and with internal funds of the institution, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry said the new equipment is designed to reduce post-surgery complications, including the risk of disability in patients, and will help perform neurosurgeries in a very short period of time and to avoid the harming of healthy tissues in the process of extracting tumors.
According to doctors, the new equipment will ease a lot their work and will increase security during surgery.
The clinical Neurosurgery Department of the Emergency Medicine Institute started work in 1977. This treats the most difficult cases of brain injury, brain hemorrhage, strokes and other diseases. The Department annually performs about 11,000 surgeries.
The equipment cost 20 million lei, 4 million lei of which was invested from the internal funds of the medical institution.
