Due to a fault in the contact network, for almost half an hour the trolleybuses could not travel to the Telecentru district of the capital. The failure occurred at the intersection of Mitropolit Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni with Alexei Mateevici streets, near the State University.

The Chisinau Electric Transport Authority general director, Dorin Ciornîi, said that the electric wire broke at 07:20 and that the intervention team fixed the failure at 07:50.

During this time, the trolleybuses which traveled to the Telecentrul district were directed to 31st August 1989 street.

After the trolleybus circulation was restored, traffic movement was difficult due to jams.
