Netherlands to support Moldovan economic agents in exporting goods to EU

The Dutch Center for the Promotion of Imports from the developing countries will assist Moldova in promoting its exports to the community market, the Center’s director Ton Lancink stated during a meeting with vice minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Valeriu Ostalep, who was on a work visit to the Netherlands and Belgium. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Lancink said that in February the Dutch experts will pay a visit to Moldova to identify the companies that will benefit from the assistance in the field. During the meeting with Rudolf Jan Treffers, general director for International Cooperation of the Dutch Foreign Ministry, the Moldovan side was informed about the Prague Government’s willingness to participate actively in the Meeting of Consultative Group of Donors for Moldova that will be held on December 12 in Brussels. Bernard Bot, Dutch Foreign minister, gave assurances that the Netherlands is willing to politically and financially support Moldova in carrying out the Moldova-EU Action Plan. The interlocutors also tackled the issue on facilitating the visa regime with the EU for Moldovan citizens. In the context, Bot mentioned that Holland is willing, in its dialogue with other EU member states, to promote Moldova more actively. During the visit, vice minister Ostalep met Robert Devriese, general director for Bilateral Affairs of the Belgian Foreign Ministry. The official voiced the Kingdom of Belgium’s willingness to provide assistance to Moldova in the field of the home affairs. The parties have agreed to initiate bilateral consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Moldova and Belgium.
