The Chisinau boulevard Constantin Negruzzi became functional in both directions on September 1. The public transport will run on the boulevard as usual, while the trolleybuses, buses and minibuses crossing the area return to the initial itineraries, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Chisinau City Hall says only trolleybus route No. 4 will have a different itinerary until September 5, owing to technical reasons.
Contacted by IPN, the head of the Chisinau Public Transport Division Igor Gamretski said the repair works on the boulevard will continue until this yearend. Now the public and private transport will travel in both directions by one lane. Repair works are also performed on Alecsandri St and Stefan cel Mare Blvd.
Constantin Negruzzi Blvd was closed to traffic on July 20, 2015, when the works to rehabilitate the road infrastructure began. The boulevard is repaired within a project to rehabilitate and modernize six main streets in the central part of Chisinau. The total value of the project is €22 million.
