The chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said the negotiations on the formation of a new Government will most probably start today, June 29, because there is no more time to be lost, IPN reports.

The politician didn’t provide details about the place where the discussions will take place and at what hour, saying it is the result of the negotiations that matters the most and it is very important to form a majority parliamentary coalition as soon as possible. “Competition ended together with the local elections and the country’s interests should now prevail over the party interests. This is what we count on,” stated Marian Lupu.

Asked if the PDM would make concessions in the negotiations, the Democratic leader said the party always put forward conditions in talks, but what is important is how realistic and feasible these conditions are.

The ruling parties are to form a new Government following the resignation of Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici. The post of Premier is held on an interim basis by Foreign Affairs Minister Natalia Gherman.
