Negotiations on facilitation of visa regime for Moldovan citizens start in Brussels
The first round of negotiations on the visa regime facilitation and readmission Agreement between Moldova and EU will be held on Friday, February 9, in Brussels.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI), vice-minister Valeriu Ostalep is heading the Moldovan delegation during these negotiations.
The ambassadors of the EU member states have been invited to the MFAEI with a view to communicating Moldova’s position that is to be expounded in Brussels by the Moldovan side.
According to the same source, the Foreign Ministry expressed to the EU Ambassadors the Moldovan Government’s appreciation for the constructive dialogue with the EU in 2006 as concerns the issue related to facilitation of the Moldovan citizens’ travels across the EU space. At the same time, it was mentioned that Moldova-EU dialogue’s final aim is to ease the visa regime for the country’s citizens.
