The next round of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format was scheduled for June. The Reintegration Bureau’s head George Balan in a roundtable meeting said there are no now obstacles to holding it, IPN reports.
George Balan stated that all the sides involved in the negotiations are now ready to organize a new round. However, the Moldovan authorities consider that the 5+ 2 format is inefficient as the talks focus more on trivial things that should be discussed by the groups of experts.
Earlier, the round of talks set to take place in Vienna on April 10-11 was postponed. Tiraspol refused to take part in this round, arguing that the Moldovan side introduced import duties on goods brought in by the Transnistrian economic entities. On April 11, Parliament annulled these excises.
