The head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova, Louis O’Neill, declared during a press conference on September 20 that the negotiations in “5+2” format seized in February will be soon resumed. At least the OSCE is fully firm that the negotiations should have been resumed long before, and unilateral actions should be replaced by constructive discussions. “There are a lot of issues that require intensive discussions and analysis”, the official mentioned. The cited source also declared that the withdrawal of the Russian military forces and ammunitions from the territory of the Republic of Moldova is one the main goals of the OSCE mission. The responsibilities assumed in the Istanbul OSCE summit are still valid, and the Mission is ready to give Russia support in this matter and insists the process continues. According to O’Neill, the 20 thousand tonnes of weapons can be evacuated during 6 months given that the political will exists.
