NCFM launches information telephone line for consumers of financial services

An information telephone line for consumers of financial services has been launched by the National Commission for Financial Markets (NCFM). On 022 85 95 95, one can report violations of the rights of consumers of financial services, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Commission said the consumer’s telephone line will work from Monday through Friday, between 08:30am and 5:30pm, and could be accessed from any network at a normal phone charge.

Consumers can inform about situations related to abusive practices and clauses in the insurance contract, unjustified refusal to pay insurance damage, non-observance of the period for paying insurance damage or inappropriate fulfillment of duties by the insurer. The citizens can also call if they have questions about the legislation that regulates insurance or if they want to share their opinions or suggestions about the improvement of financial services.

From July 1, 2023, the NCFM has been responsible for the supervision and protection of the rights of consumers of financial services in such areas as insurance, non-bank lending and the capital market. From January 1, 2024, it will be in charge of all the financial services: banking sector, payment service providers, currency exchange facilities.
