The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will organize interactive sessions for children on the International Children’s Day, giving them an exciting insight into the world of money. The activities will take place during a major event which the NBM enthusiastically joined, together with the Ministry of Education and Research and the Republican Center for Children and Youth ARTICO, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the NBM.
“The financial education of children will bear visible fruit in the near future. The National Bank dedicates important resources in this regard, to support, together with other institutions, the formation of a generation of informed and responsible consumers, thus contributing to individual and national welfare,” said NBM governor Anca Dragu.
The event will take place in the central park of Chisinau, between 11.00 and 14.00. The children will enjoy a creative and interactive learning experience, including motivation through play.
The space for activities will include a number of attractive thematic areas. The NBM will have activities in the “Discovery Filed”, offering “beginner explorers” the opportunity to discover the security features of Moldovan lei banknotes and curiosities about money. Specialists from the central bank will provide the participants with special equipment, which will allow them to “discover” all the elements of banknotes. Also, the children will be able to put questions to NBM experts about the national currency and money in general.
“The National Bank of Moldova places special emphasis on the financial education of children so as to ensure their natural integration into the financial environment and to help them become informed, responsible and efficient consumers in making financial decisions,” runs the press release.
The event is part of the National Campaign “Financial Education for All”, which is carried out within the USAID Moldova Institutional and Structural Reforms Activity.
