Natural Ethnography Museum hosts 5th Martisor Exhibition

On Friday, the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History inaugurated the 5th Martisor Exhibition. The items displayed have been collected during 5 years, starting the first exhibition. They were made by craftsmen and children form kindergartens and schools representing almost all the districts of the country. Barbara Buzila, scientific director of the museum told Info-Prim Neo that the purpose of the event is to preserve the national tradition. “It is our duty to care for what is beautiful”, she mentioned, specifying that the exhibition has a number of martisors equal to that of Moldova’s inhabitants. The museum’s staff and the participants congratulated each other on spring’s arrival. Larisa Cojocaru, handcraft teacher from Saseni village, Calarasi district, made a gift to the museum – a tree with 36 martisors, crafted by her pupils. The museum also awarded diplomas to the participants. The exhibition will be held until March 31.
