More than 4,600 activities that promoted the national idea and the statehood of the Republic of Moldova have been staged during six years within the nationwide campaign “I Love Moldova” that was initiated by Igor Dodon in 2011. The organizers summed up the results of the campaign in a news conference at IPN on April 7.
Socialist Chisinau councilor Ion Ceban, who is one of the campaign members, said the initiative “I Love Moldova” was launched in response to the tragic events that took place on April 7, 2009. During the campaign, hundreds of events and persons, especially athletes and people of culture, were supported.
There were printed tens of textbooks, including the “History of Moldova” in three volumes, and laid out areas and grounds all over the country.
“There were staged patriotic events to support the national idea and to promote the Republic of Moldova as a state and us as an entity, both here and abroad,” stated Ion Ceban.
Campaign member Yevgeny Ilashkco gave as example the support offered to the volleyball club in Ungheni and to the national song and instrumental music contest for children and youth “Moldova’s Stars”.
The nationwide campaign “I Love Moldova” was launched by the current President of Igor Dodon on April 7, 2011, who was then a member of the Communist parliamentary group.
