National wrestling team ranks 21st at world champs

Moldova's freestyle wrestling squad finished 21st at the Moscow World Championship. Three wrestlers competed on the last day of the competition, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vladimir Gotisan (66kg class) lost to Azerbaijani European champion Jabrail Hasanov and took the 24th position in the general rankings. Roman Dermenji (74 kg) was beaten by Russia's Denis Tsargush in the first match. In re-qualifiers, Roman won against Korea's Lee Yun Seok, but was defeated by Poland's Krystian Brzozovski and ranked tenth. Andrei Podsevalnicov (120 kg) beat Cypriot Varntan Aparyan, but lost to Azerbaijan's Ali Isayev and finished 12th. Petru Ianulov achieved the best result among the Moldovan athletes. He ranked fifth in the 84kg class. Representatives of 64 countries took part in the World Wrestling Championship in Moscow.
