The National Women’s Orchestra of Jiangsu played traditional Chinese music and Moldovan music at the Organ Hall in Chisinau on March 2 within the International Music Festival “Martsishor”. The arrangement was made by the Orchestra’s conductor, famous Chinese composer Yang Chunlin, IPN reports.
The event involved the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Chinua to Moldova Zhang Yinghong. The official said that by taking part in the traditional festival, the ensembles from China can present a vast traditional repertoire that is appreciated by the Moldovan public. The National Women’s Orchestra of Jiangsu is popular not only in China, but also abroad.
Referring to the Festival “Martsishor”, Zhang Yinghong said that even if China and Moldova are situated far from each other, the relations of friendship between them develop annually.
For his part, Deputy Minister of Culture Igor Sharov said the Chinese artists who took part in this festival in time have brought a pronounced nuance of originality and national typical features to Moldova. Tradition and modernity define not only the Chinese music and culture, but also the whole Chinese society. The audience has appreciated the skillfulness of the National Women’s Orchestra of Jiangsu since the official opening of the 50th Festival “Martsishor” on March 1.
