National women’s football champion suffers first defeat
Roma Calfa, the women’s football champion of Moldova, opened the Champions League qualifiers with a defeat. The team trained by Anatol Atamanenco lost to Denmark’s champion Brondby 6-0, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Brondby’s Sanne Troelsgaard Nielsen and Henriette Dahl scored by two goals.
In the other match of the first qualifying group, Sofia Bulgaria demolished Turkey’s Gazi Universitesi.
On August 7, the Moldovan squad meets Bulgaria’s team. Only the group winner qualifies for the next stage of the competition.
