This year’s slogan of the National Wine Day is “My wine brings peace, turns hatred into love”. A number of 86 winners from all over the country will exhibit their products today and tomorrow in the Great National Assembly Square as part of the 21st National Wine Day. The holiday is staged in the center of Chisinau after a pause of two years caused by the pandemic, IPN reports.

The opening ceremony was scheduled for 11am. The Top Prize in winemaking and winegrowing, the medal “Petru Ungureanu”, the title “Most Skillful Oenologist of the Year”, the medal “Nicolae Guzun” and the title “Winemaker of the Year” will be awarded in the event.

Between 12 noon and 5pm, those attending bill be able to visit the Peasant’s Yard and see works made by Moldovan craftspeople and discuss with them and to take part in pottery, woodcarving, carpet weaving and other workshops.

Folk bands will give performances between 1pm and 4pm. In the Wine School between 2pm and 5pm, the visitors will be able to taste wine and cognac and to learn how to responsibly consume wine.

A concert featuring DJ TERRA BLVCK, Pasha Parfeni, “Zdob și Zdub” band and Advahov Brothers starts at 6pm.

On the second day of the event, October 2, the program starts at 11am. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hand over the Golden Barrel prize. The visitors will be again able to stop at the Peasant’s Yard and the Wine School.

The cultural and educational program that starts at 5pm will be followed by a performance by DJ TERRA BLVCK, “Ștefan Vodă” Ensemble, Osoianu Sisters and Vali Boghean Band.

During two days, all the national wineries will be open to tourists willing to discover the oenogastronomic offers and the cultural and artistic potential of the regions.

The 21st National Wine Day is organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine with the assistance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and USAID Moldova.
