During a week, between October 2 and 8, the public authorities, civil society organizations, initiative groups and other entities will stage awareness-raising campaigns, debates on volunteerism, charity, cleanup and training activities within the National Volunteer Week 2017.
Now at its 11th edition, the “National Volunteer Week – Join Volunteers!” is the largest event to promote volunteerism nationwide.
Natalia Grejdieru, communication coordinator of the National Volunteer Week 2017, has told IPN that this year they expect to involve a larger number of people and organizations in this event so that the volunteering activities are more interesting, numerous and have a bigger impact.
“Our goal is to increase the number of organizations that would take part in the event and to promote volunteerism nationwide. Volunteerism means change for the better of the people, communities and the world. Only through volunteerism can we regain and share skills, can learn and do nice things that are useful to society,” stated Natalia Grejdieru.
The event is organized by the Coalition for Promoting Volunteering Law and Activities through the project “National Volunteer Week – Join Volunteers!”, based on the 2017 Grants Program of the central body responsible for youth and sport of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
