The national basketball team of Moldova started the FIBA U16 European Championship Division C in Andorra with a victory. Moldova defeated Wales 64-55, IPN reports.

Stanislav Cocorev scored 26 points, Denis Sorocean 15, Ivan Hmyrov 15, Eduard Spataru six and Oleg Radu two. In another match of Group A, Armenia won against Gibraltar 66-59.

On July 24, Moldova meets Gibraltar. The team trained by Oleg Dical will also play against Armenia and Malta.
