The national Under 19 football team of Moldova failed to qualify for the elite round of the 2014 European Championship. The ‘tricolors’ suffered defeats in the first two matches of the mini-tournament that takes place in Georgia.
Iurie Osipenko’s pupils lost the first match to the Netherlands 0-3, while today, November 15, they were beaten by Georgia 0-2. The hosts scored both of the goals in the first 10 minutes, through Luka Kikabidze and Giorgi Aburjania.
In the last match on November 18, Moldova meets Wales. In order to avoid ranking last in the group, it must win a victory. Today Wales drew with the Netherlands 0-0 and has one point. Georgia already secured its presence in the European Championship elite round.
