Moldova’s Under 17 football squad ranked last in the preliminary group 8 of the 2014 European Championship. On September 30, the national team trained by Nicolae Bunea lost the match against Cyprus 0-2, IPN reports.
The Cypriots scored both of the goals in the first half through Andreas Fragkou and Foivos Christodoulou. Moldova’s squad got only one point after drawing with Norway 1-1 and losing to Spain 0-3.
Spain and Norway qualified for the second preliminary round of the European Championship with 9 points and 4 points respectively.
The Under 19 team will enter the European Championship qualifying rounds on November 13. Its group includes the Netherland, Wales and Georgia.
