The men’s national tennis team of Moldova beat the similar squad of Kosovo, but failed to qualify for the Davis Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group 2, IPN reports.
In singles, Vasilii Dontu lost to Granit Bajraliu 0-6, 6-3, 7-5, while Alexandru Vitcov won against Genc Salita 6-1, 3-6, 6-1. The winner was decided in the doubles, where the pair Vasilii Dontu - Egor Matvievici defeated the Granit Bajraliu – Genc Selita duo 6-3, 6-3.
Moldova failed to qualify for the playoffs even if it scored two victories. Even if it has the same score, Malta qualified further owing to the success in the direct match against Moldova.
