The men’s tennis team left for Montenegro to contest in the Davis Cup competition, Europe/Africa Zone Group III, IPN reports.
The team consists of Alexandr Vitcov, Maxim Bulat, Vasile Dontu and Egor Matvievici. Iurie Gorban is the team’s captain.
“As last year, our leader Radu Albot is absent. He has a motivation to remain in the top 100 world rankings and we give this young people the chance to gain experience so that we could build a competitive team,” president of the Moldovan Tennis Federation Elena Organ told a news conference.
The Davis Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group III involves teams from the following countries: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Macedonia, Greece, Island, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Moldova, and San Marino. The tournament ends on April 9.
