The Ministry of Education and Research during March 20-April 12 will hold the national stage of the “Teacher of the Year” contest that is intended for educators, teachers and professors of secondary schools and lyceums. The competition will involve 55 contenders, IPN reports.

At the first stage, during March 20-31, the 20 members of the contest commission will examine the partition files and will assess the candidates through the oral test “Professional Intelligence” as a result of which the contenders for the second stage will be chosen. At the second stage, during April 3-12, the participants will take the following tests: “Public Lesson”, “Ad-hoc Ingeniousness Test” and the homework – speech on the theme “In the Name of Future”.

Based on the contest results, there will be conferred three titles in each of the three categories: “Professor of the Year, “Teacher of the Year”, and “Educator of the Year”.

The laureates will receive money awards ranging from 15,000 to 50,000 lei and diplomas of honor of the Ministry of Education and Research.

The contest is at its 17th edition. It annually brings together the most talented, creative and devoted educators, teachers and professors.
