National squad climb three spots in FIFA rankings
The national football team of Moldova moved up three places in the FIFA rankings for February, from 84th to 81st place. After taken over by coach Gabi Balint a year ago, Moldova’s squad made a climb of 15 spots in the world rankings, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Moldova’s adversaries in the Euro 2012 qualifiers take the following positions: the Netherlands - 2nd, Sweden –29th, Hungary - 37th, Finland – 78th, San Marino – 203rd.
Spain remain top, followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, and Argentina.
The national squad will have a training session in Portugal on February 4-10. In Portugal’s Faro, they will play two friendlies – with Poland on February 6 and with Andorra on February 9.
