The national school for deaf and hypoacoustic children situated in the municipality of Chisinau will be closed, in accordance with a Government decision, IPN reports.

According to acting Minister of Education Maia Sandu, the reason for such a decision is the low number of students. No student was admitted to this school in 2012–2013, while in 2011- 2012 the school was graduated by 22 students.

The children who need the services of such an institution will be able to attend School No. 12 of Chisinau municipality, and the schools for deaf and hypoacoustic children of Cahul town and of Harbovat village in Calarasi district.
