The first rugby sports complex in Moldova will be built in Chisinau. The project was assessed at €2 million. According to the president of the National Rugby Federation Vasile Revenco, the money will be allocated by a limited liability company.
“When this complex is constructed, we will be able to open a training center for young athletes and a rugby academy and to implement other projects. The two training fields – one with natural grass and another one with artificial lawn – will enable us to play rugby 365 days a year,” Vasile Revenco stated for IPN.
The sports complex will have stands for 3,000 places at every field. It will include a conference hall, a meeting hall, a gymnasium and 12 locker rooms.
“In order to be able to organize international rugby tournaments in Moldova and to host European championships, we must meet all the major conditions imposed by the International Rugby Board, including two fields and minimum 12 locker rooms. The complex will also house the rugby academy of Moldova,” added Vasile Revenco.
The complex will be built on an area of 3 hectares, near Ialoveni town. It is projected to be put in commission at the end of next year.
